Tree Trimming Service

For many of us, the sign of a great landscape is how well we can get things to grow. A vibrant, lush lawn is the stereotypical feature that can make your neighbors green with envy. Watering, fertilizing, and manicuring a yard can become a labor of love, but don't forget, trees need some love too. For those who take pride in the heights (literally and figuratively), they can take their arborage to, sometimes more and higher is not better. From the outside looking in, long branches full of leaves and palm trees with giant fronds can represent a job well done, but things can turn quickly without the proper care.

That's where the professionals at All Nix Services come in. Pruning trees is a vital service and so much more than grabbing a pruning tool and having at it. Grabbing a ladder and hacking off as much as you can of the treetop and leaving stubs is referred to as topping, and it is detrimental to the tree and should not be done. Just cutting off the branch tips can you reach, appropriately called tipping, causes poor regrowth, and can cause decay or death.

Healthy growth is promoted by properly removing dead, insect-infested, or diseased branches and the chances of disease and pests spreading are greatly reduced. Much of the trimming centers around the crown, which is the treetop. We consider the species, height, and shape of the crown to come up with a plan before getting in the air.

Some of the methods we use include:

  • Crown Thinning: Selected branches are removed from young trees. This creates a truer form and better health by increasing the air movement and amount of sunlight penetration. We really focus on getting weak branches removed. Taking care of branches that overhang the roof removes an easy pathway for rats, squirrels, and raccoons.

  • Crown Raising: We remove lower branches that can obstruct pedestrian's and drivers' vision and create clearance above lawns. This open space can improve the health of the tree and act as a deterrent for rodents.

  • Crown Cleaning: We remove diseased, dying, or dead branches from the crown.

  • Crown Reduction: This is a way to bring the height of the tree down. This differs from topping as there are no stubs are left. This method is the least desirable, and it should not be necessary with a proper trimming schedule.

From May to October, South Florida is vulnerable to tropical storms and hurricanes. Dead branches can easily become missiles or worse and being proactive is the best defense. Even though homeowner's insurance generally covers a branch through your roof or on top of your car, the headache, claim process, and raised premiums can be long-lasting. Getting those post-storm trees tended to are equally important. It is suggested that trees are inspected every two years.

As a locally owned company, All Nix Services is very aware of the hazards that come with poorly managed trees in South Florida. Contact us today for a free estimate, and we'll take care of your current or potential tree issues.
